The couple, dressed in matching black outfits, were seen taking a midnight walk in Sydney as they welcomed the New Year. A video of the couple’s walk surfaced on social media. Anushka, who is in Australia with her husband, Virat, is accompanying him during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
Anushka and Virat’s New Year celebrations were simple and quiet. After the fourth Test in Melbourne, the team, along with Anushka, moved to Sydney for the final Test. Fans shared a video on social media showing Virat and Anushka walking down a Sydney street. In the video, the couple is seen walking together, with their backs to the camera.
Virat has faced criticism for his performance during the tour, with his recent form being questioned. He also stirred controversy when he spoke out against the Australian media for photographing his children without permission. Both Anushka and Virat have been very protective of their children, Vamika and Akaay, and have requested photographers and broadcasters not to capture their children’s faces. Their social media posts also avoid showing their kids’ faces.
Anushka, who took a break from acting, last appeared in the movie Zero in 2018. She finished filming her biopic on cricketer Jhulan Goswami, Chakda Xpress, in 2023. The film was initially planned for a release on Netflix in 2024, but there has been no official update on its release. At the moment, Anushka doesn’t have any other projects lined up.
