Recently, actor Rashmika Mandanna was accused of ignoring the Kannada language and refusing to attend a film festival in Bengaluru. However, a source close to her has come forward to say that these claims are completely false.
Rashmika’s Side of the Story
A source said, “Some news reports claim that Rashmika refused to attend the Bengaluru film festival and made bad remarks about the festival and the state. These reports are totally untrue.” The source added that the story about her being approached and then refusing to go is not correct. This statement was made to clear the air and stop the false rumors.
More About the Claims
Rashmika was also accused of neglecting the Kannada language. Congress MLA Ravikumar Gowda Ganiga expressed his anger over this matter. He said that Rashmika, who started her career with the Kannada movie Kirik Party, refused to attend the International Film Festival last year. He claimed, “She said, ‘I have my house in Hyderabad, I don’t know where Karnataka is, and I don’t have time. I can’t come.” Ganiga further said that one of his friends visited her house 10–12 times to invite her, but she still refused and even ignored Kannada. He added that maybe someone should teach her a lesson.
Some time ago, during an event for her film Chhaava, many of her Kannada fans felt that she was distancing herself from her roots. It is known that Rashmika is from Coorg in Karnataka and made her debut in the Kannada film Kirik Party alongside Rakshit Shetty.
