Veteran batsman Virat Kohli looked young again by scoring a calm 84, helping India beat Australia by 4 wickets in the Champions Trophy semi-final on Tuesday. India was chasing 265 runs. Even though Kohli got out near the end, KL Rahul’s unbeaten 42 helped the team win with 11 balls remaining at the Dubai International Stadium.
With this win, India has earned a place in the final on Sunday in Dubai. They will face the winner of the second semi-final between South Africa and New Zealand.

The final would have been held in Lahore if India had lost.
This victory also ended Australia’s strong record in ICC knockout matches against India. Before this match, India had last beaten Australia in a knockout game during the 2011 ODI World Cup quarter-final. After that, Australia had won three major games against India – the 2015 ODI World Cup semi-final, the 2023 World Test Championship final, and the 2023 ODI World Cup final. India’s win in the 2025 Champions Trophy semi-final finally broke this streak.
