During the trailer launch of Sky Force, Akshay Kumar spoke about his films not performing well at the box office in 2024. The actor mentioned that his entire career has been built at this speed, thanks to his mehnat (hard work) and lagan (dedication).
Akshay Kumar, popularly known as Khiladi Kumar, is known for having a busy schedule with multiple projects lined up. In 2024, he released three films: Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sarfira, and Khel Khel Mein. Unfortunately, none of these films were able to win over the audience or achieve box office success. Reflecting on this challenging year during the trailer launch of Sky Force, his first release in 2025, the actor shared his thoughts on overcoming such phases in his career.
The OMG 2 actor explained that this was not the first time he faced a tough year. He believes the solution lies in continuing to work hard and staying focused. Akshay shared that people often advise him to reduce the number of films he does each year, suggesting he stick to a maximum of two. But he disagrees, saying, “Agar main zyada kaam kar sakta hoon toh kyun na karoon?” (If I can work more, why shouldn’t I?)
He also revealed that some have told him to avoid content-driven films, but he chooses not to follow that advice. He proudly stated that even though Sarfira, his film with Radhika Madan, didn’t work, it remains one of his best films. “Main is baat par garv (pride) karta hoon ke maine aisi film banayi,” Akshay said.
In 2024, Akshay also made cameo appearances in two big films—Amar Kaushik’s Stree 2 and Rohit Shetty’s multi-starrer Singham Again. Now, he is gearing up for Sky Force, directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Kapur, alongside Sara Ali Khan and Veer Pahariya. The film is set to release in cinemas on January 24, 2025.
Looking ahead, Akshay Kumar has an impressive lineup of films including Jolly LLB 3, Welcome to the Jungle, Housefull 5, Hera Pheri 3, and Bhoot Bangala. With his mantra of hard work and consistency, the actor is determined to deliver entertaining films to his fans.
