
Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma recently congratulated Ravichandran Ashwin on his incredible international cricket career. Ashwin announced his retirement after the third Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 in Brisbane, which ended in a draw.

Ashwin’s last Test match for India was the pink-ball match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 at Adelaide Oval. He scored 29 runs in two innings and took one wicket.
The Tamil Nadu-born cricketer retires as the second-highest wicket-taker for India in Tests, with 537 wickets in 106 matches. Former leg-spinner Anil Kumble leads with 619 wickets. Ashwin also has 156 ODI wickets and 72 T20I wickets.

Virat Kohli, former Indian captain, also expressed his deep appreciation for Ashwin’s contribution to the team. Kohli highlighted Ashwin’s match-winning abilities and said he would always be remembered as a legend. Kohli had even embraced Ashwin during a rain break on Day 5 of the Brisbane Test, which led to retirement rumors that later came true after the match ended.
