shutosh Sharma Dedicates Player of the Match Award to “Shikhar Paaji”
Delhi Capitals’ (DC) Ashutosh Sharma gave full credit to Shikhar Dhawan after winning the Player of the Match award for his match-winning knock against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2025.
DC pulled off a thrilling one-wicket victory, and Ashutosh played a key role when the team was struggling at 65/5 while chasing 210 runs.
A Match-Winning Knock
Coming in as an Impact Substitute for Mukesh Kumar, Ashutosh remained not out with 66 runs off 31 balls and finished the match in style with a huge six!
After the match, he shared his thoughts:
“I learned from last year because there were times when I couldn’t finish games. So, I have been working on this, even in domestic cricket. I believe that anything can happen if I stay till the last over.”
“You just need to stay calm, believe in yourself, and play the shots you have practised. That’s exactly what I did today.”

Support from Vipraj Nigam
20-year-old leg-spinner Vipraj Nigam also made a big impact with his quick 39 runs off 15 balls, forming a crucial partnership with Ashutosh.
Ashutosh praised Vipraj, saying:
“Firstly, I want to say that Vipraj played very well. It was a great innings. I told him that if he is able to connect, he should keep hitting. I just stayed calm and didn’t put too much pressure on myself.”
Special Dedication to Shikhar Dhawan
Before ending, Ashutosh dedicated his award to his mentor, Shikhar Dhawan, with whom he played at Punjab Kings in the last IPL season.
