Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma’s Divorce: Real Reason Revealed
Famous Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma got married in December 2020 in a private ceremony in Gurgaon. However, after some time, they started living separately, leading to rumors of their divorce. Finally, on March 20, 2025, their marriage was officially dissolved, shocking their fans.
Reason Behind Their Divorce
Journalist Vickey Lalwani recently revealed the real reason behind their separation. In his Instagram post, he mentioned that Chahal and Dhanashree had different personalities and often had arguments. The main problem started when Dhanashree wanted Yuzvendra to permanently shift to Mumbai from Haryana.
After marriage, the couple lived with Chahal’s parents in Haryana, but they often traveled to Mumbai. However, Dhanashree wanted a permanent move, which Chahal refused, as he didn’t want to leave his family and home. Lalwani wrote, “This Mumbai-Haryana jhagda (fight) was one of the main reasons why this marriage ended.”
Divorce Confirmation
Reports of their divorce were confirmed when the couple was seen at Bandra Family Court with their lawyers. The Bombay High Court gave them an exemption from the usual six-month cooling-off period, allowing them to finalize their divorce before March 21, 2025, as Chahal was set to play in IPL 2025.
After the court hearing on March 20, 2025, Chahal’s advocate, Nitin Kumar Gupta, confirmed the news, stating, “The court has accepted the joint petition. They are no longer husband and wife.”
Alimony Settlement
As per reports by Bar and Bench, Chahal will pay Rs 4.75 crore as alimony to Dhanashree Verma.
