Cinema lovers have a million reasons to be excited this year, as the list of upcoming movies has kept everyone thrilled. A new report now says that Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday’s Kesari 2, which was earlier planned for a Holi 2025 release, has been delayed. Instead, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri’s Dhadak 2 will take its place.
As per Bollywood Hungama, Dhadak 2 is now the much-awaited Holi 2025 release. A source revealed that like Kesari Chapter 2, Dhadak 2 is also being made by Dharma Productions.
After the Akshay Kumar-starrer was postponed, the production house decided to keep the prime Holi release slot and announced Dhadak 2 as their festive offering. An official announcement is expected soon.
Dhadak 2, starring Siddhant and Triptii, was originally scheduled to release on November 22, 2024. Later, the release was shifted to February 21, just before Triptii’s birthday on February 23.
Currently, Dhadak 2 is expected to release solo during Holi. An industry insider shared, “Holi is a big festival, and usually, two medium-budget films release around that time. But this year, Holi coincides with the holy month of Ramadan. Salman Khan’s high-budget action movie Sikandar will release two weeks after Holi, during Eid. So, there may be fewer releases in March.”
The report also mentioned that on February 7, two films—Badass Ravi Kumar and Loveyapa—will be released, along with some re-releases. On February 14, Chhaava is scheduled, followed by Mere Husband Ki Biwi on February 21.
After these, no major releases are planned, except for The Diplomat on March 7 and Dhadak 2 on March 14. The report also said that May might see fewer movies, similar to last year, because of the IPL, which might lead to more clashes starting in June.
