India smashes their highest ODI total against Ireland with an incredible score of 435/5!

Date:

India Women created history in one-day international (ODI) cricket on Wednesday by achieving their highest-ever team score. With incredible centuries by Pratika Rawal and captain Smriti Mandhana, India crossed the 370-run mark in just the 42nd over during the third ODI against Ireland in Rajkot, breaking their own previous record.

India posted a massive total of 435/5 in 50 overs, surpassing all previous ODI scores by both Indian men’s and women’s teams. This achievement even beat the Indian men’s highest score of 418/5, made against the West Indies in Indore in 2011.

Other Top ODI Scores by India:

  • 414/7 vs Sri Lanka, Rajkot (2009)
  • 413/5 vs Bermuda, 2007 World Cup
  • 410/4 vs Netherlands, Bengaluru (2023)

The Rajkot innings was a proud moment, showcasing the growing power of India Women in international cricket. Just three days earlier, India Women had scored 370/5, their then-highest total, but they broke their own record in grand style in this match.

Smriti Mandhana’s Stunning Knock

Captain Smriti Mandhana smashed the fastest century by an Indian women’s batter, reaching her 100 in just 70 balls. This broke Harmanpreet Kaur’s previous record of an 87-ball century against South Africa. Smriti scored 135 runs off 80 balls, hitting 12 fours and 7 sixes, with a strike rate of 170.9.

This brilliant performance came in a “dead rubber” match (a match where the series is already decided), as India had already won the series 2-0. Smriti’s attacking batting tore apart Ireland’s bowling.

Highest Boundaries in Women’s ODIs:

  • New Zealand Women: 71 boundaries vs Ireland, Dublin (2018)
  • New Zealand Women: 59 boundaries vs Ireland, Dublin (2018)
  • India Women: 57 boundaries vs Ireland, Rajkot (2025)
  • England Women: 56 boundaries vs South Africa, Bristol (2017)
  • New Zealand Women: 53 boundaries vs Ireland, Dublin (2018)

Smriti and Pratika Rawal also created a record-breaking 233-run opening partnership, the highest by Indian women in home ODIs. This stand set the perfect platform for India’s huge total.

Milestones for Smriti Mandhana

Smriti became the first Indian woman to score 10 ODI centuries, joining an elite club of openers in world cricket, including Australia’s Meg Lanning (15 centuries) and New Zealand’s Suzie Bates (13 centuries).

This incredible achievement highlights the growing dominance of India Women in world cricket.
