Kolkata: IPL 2025 is excitingly awaited, and the Auctions, which will play a crucial role in shaping the league’s outcomes, are just around the corner. The IPL 2025 Mega Auction is set to take place on November 5, 2024, with timings and details confirmed as per the recent announcement, including the allocation of regional venues and broadcasting schedules for fans worldwide.
The IPL 2025 Mega Auction will resort to the land of Mecca, which is the son of Arabia, a Jeddah port city, for 2 days — November 24 and 25. The auction was to be conducted in Riyadh, but it has since been confirmed that the venue change is final for the Abady Al Johar Arena, where the two-day auction will take place.
BCCI confirmed Jeddah to be the venue on Tuesday. They also added that 1574 players have registered for the mega auction, which included 320 capped players, and 1224 uncapped players and 30 players from Associate Nations.
The similar attempts were tried by BCCI in organizing other International venues including Dubai, Singapore and even in Vienna, but Saudi Arabia was successful in the bid to host one of the sporting events which is watched the most on the television. BCCI delegations last month went to Saudi Arabia to check possible sites for the events and accommodation for promising logistics.
This auction will be one that has been in anticipated with a lot of climax and for the first time will include top Indian players and foreign players as well.
