Kartik Aaryan has spoken about the insider vs outsider debate in Bollywood and explained why losing movie roles doesn’t bother him anymore. He admitted that he has lost roles to star kids but said he has “made peace” with it, as it’s not their fault.

In a chat with The Indian Express, Kartik shared, “Meri bhi opportunities kayi baar aise gayi hai jahan pe mujhe aisa laga ki (Even I have lost opportunities where I felt) maybe I should have gotten the role instead of someone from a film family.”
The insider vs outsider debate is about how actors from film families often have it easier to get roles, while those who don’t have any godfathers in the industry struggle to find opportunities. Kartik acknowledged this reality but mentioned that he has learned to accept it.
Kartik Aaryan’s recent films
Kartik had an impressive 2024 with both critical and commercial success. He appeared in Kabir Khan’s Chandu Champion, where he played Paralympic champion Murlikant Petkar. Though the film didn’t perform well at the box office, Kartik’s performance was widely appreciated.
Later, his Diwali release Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 turned out to be a massive hit, earning close to ₹400 crore. It even surpassed the collections of the multi-starrer Singham Again, released on the same day.
Kartik is also set to appear in Aashiqui 3, announced in 2023. However, reports suggest the movie is now delayed.
