Mohammed Siraj’s Emotional Performance Against RCB at Chinnaswamy
Mohammed Siraj gave a memorable performance at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, taking 3 wickets for 19 runs while playing for Gujarat Titans against his former team, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The 31-year-old fast bowler, who played for RCB from 2018 to 2024, was named Player of the Match in his first game at this ground wearing the blue jersey of Gujarat Titans instead of RCB’s red jersey.
Siraj bowled brilliantly in the powerplay, taking the wickets of Devdutt Padikkal and Phil Salt, celebrating in style with Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous ‘siu’ celebration.

Siraj’s Journey with RCB
During his time with RCB, Siraj played 87 matches, taking 83 wickets at an average of 31.45. His best bowling figures for RCB were 4/21. However, the franchise did not retain him before the 2025 mega auction, and Gujarat Titans picked him.
Siraj’s Emotions and Celebration
After receiving the Player of the Match award, Siraj shared his feelings:
“I was a bit emotional. I played here for 7 years, and now my jersey has changed from red to blue. There was some nervousness, but I was fully focused once I got the ball in my hand.”
When asked about his celebration style, he said:
“I am a big fan of Ronaldo, so I did his celebration.”
Hard Work During Break
Siraj was not selected for the Champions Trophy squad, but he used the break to improve his bowling and fitness.
“I had been playing regularly, but during the break, I corrected my mistakes and worked on my fitness,” he explained.

At Gujarat Titans, Siraj has received guidance from Ashish Nehra and Ishant Sharma.
“After joining Gujarat Titans, I spoke to Ashish Bhai. He always tells me to enjoy my bowling. Ishant Bhai gives me advice on line and length. My mindset is simple – believe in yourself, and then the pitch does not matter,” Siraj shared.
