Star Indian wicketkeeper-batter took to X on Wednesday to answer fans’ questions. During the session, when asked to describe his teammate Jasprit Bumrah in one word, he gave the ultimate compliment by calling him “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time).

Bumrah, who is ranked No. 1 in the ICC Test bowler’s rankings, was in outstanding form during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. He played all five matches and dismissed 32 batters, making it the highest wickets taken by any Indian bowler in an away Test series.
His brilliant performance also made him India’s most successful Test bowler in SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia). He also became the joint-leading wicket-taker in one edition of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. For his exceptional show with the ball, Bumrah was honored with the Player of the Series award.
The star fast bowler is likely to feature in India’s squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will soon be announced by the BCCI. However, there are concerns about his fitness as Bumrah suffered from back spasms during the Sydney Test and didn’t bowl in the second innings.
During the #AskRP session, Pant also replied to a question from former England captain Michael Vaughan, who asked, “Do you think England will win the Ashes this year?” Pant wrote, “The team which will play better cricket will win.”
Later this year, England will travel to Australia for the 2025-26 Ashes series and will aim to break their 15-year-long drought of winning a Test series in Australia.
Pant, the cricketer from Roorkee, who became the most expensive player in IPL history last year after signing a record-breaking Rs 27 crore deal with the Lucknow Super Giants during the IPL 2025 mega auction, also answered another fan’s question. When asked which Indian player from the past he would have loved to play with, he mentioned Virender Sehwag’s name.
