Team India captain Rohit Sharma’s funny yet frustrated reaction was caught on the stump mic on Day 3 (Monday, December 16) of the third Test against Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane. When Akash Deep bowled a wide delivery outside off-stump while Alex Carey was batting, the 37-year-old skipper got annoyed and said, “Abe sar mein kuch hai? (Is there anything in your brain?).”
The incident happened during the 114th over of Australia’s first innings. Akash Deep’s ball completely missed the pitch, and wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant had to dive fully to stop it from reaching the boundary. Meanwhile, the hosts managed to take two runs as byes, and umpire Richard Illingworth also called it a wide ball.
Akash Deep, who replaced Harshit Rana for this Test, worked hard on Day 2 and troubled the Australian batters several times but could not take a wicket. However, he finally got his first wicket when Alex Carey, who scored 70 runs, was dismissed.

Rohit Sharma’s Team India under pressure
Australia scored a big total of 445 runs in their first innings, with centuries from Steve Smith and Travis Head. This has put Rohit Sharma’s team under a lot of pressure. Australia’s fast bowlers, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood, bowled brilliantly with the new ball and took three early wickets before rain forced an early lunch. Starc dismissed both Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill, while Hazlewood got Virat Kohli caught behind by Alex Carey.
India is now struggling at 34-3 in 12 overs. The team will depend on KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Rohit Sharma to bring them back into the game.
India had won the first Test at Perth’s Optus Stadium by a massive 295 runs, but Australia came back strongly to win the second Test by 10 wickets. Due to bad weather in Brisbane, the third Test might end in a draw. The fourth Test (Boxing Day Test) will begin on December 26 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
