Salman Khan Opens Up About His Parents’ Love Story and His Film Plans
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan recently spoke from the heart during a group interaction at a five-star hotel in Mumbai while promoting his upcoming film Sikandar. Right at the start, he was asked about the importance of family, and he gave a beautiful answer about his parents, Salim Khan and Salma Khan.
Salim Khan and Salma Khan’s Love Story
Salman Khan shared an interesting story about his parents’ marriage. He said, “My mother and father belonged to different cultures and religions. But the issue was not that my father was a Muslim while my mother was a Hindu. The real problem was that ‘Yeh aadmi film industry ka hai’!”
He explained that his maternal grandfather (nana) was not happy with his mother marrying a film industry person. It was not about religion, but about the uncertainty of a career in films.
After marriage, Salma Khan’s father did not have a good relationship with Salim Khan and Salma. Salman revealed, “It was only when my younger brother Sohail was born that my nana and my father started bonding. Later, my nana loved my father so much that he said, ‘Meri life ki sabse badi galti yeh thi ki maine 5 saal waste kar diye’.”
Salman also shared a touching moment, “Once my mother had a fight with my father and left home to stay with my nana. But my nana told her, ‘Dekho, tumhari arthi ab wahin se uthegi. You are welcome to stay with us, but never leave your husband.’”
He then jokingly added, “Pata nahin mere father ne mere grandfather pe kya jadoo chalaya!”
Sikandar Trailer Launch
Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, made a rare public appearance at the Sikandar trailer launch on March 23, 2025, which became a hot topic in the industry and on the internet. The film is set to release in cinemas on March 30, 2025.
Why Salman’s Film with Atlee Didn’t Happen
During the same event, Salman Khan also spoke about his much-rumored film with director Atlee. He said, “I don’t think it’s happening right now. At one point, we were working on it, but something happened. I don’t know exactly what, but I believe it was the budget of the film. It was a very, very big-budget movie, and that’s why it got delayed.”
He further explained, “Woh film 2 films ka time leke chala jaata. Right now, I have enough time to do one film first and then another.”
With Sikandar set for release soon, Salman’s fans are eagerly waiting to see him back on the big screen!
